quickdrawcollective:

Hey! This month I finished cutting a new version of my reel, it was a much needed update and will hopefully help me bring in more freelance work, I tweaked my website & decided to do a quick little typography project; taking the piece from sketch to vector. The weather’s been great so I’ve been drawing a lot more in my sketchbook and sitting out in Central Park!

"What I’m Working On“‘s are happening! Go check out what everyone’s been up to this month @ QDC!

jessicaroux:

I’m painting a mural at the Tar Pit on Saturday, May 10th here in Brooklyn! I’m working with some awesome artists and one super cool coffee shop. Two of my friends, anticipatricia and paige-money are helping me execute my vision on a large garage door. There will be music, food and beer - so stop by and say hello!

Come say hey if you’re in NY/Brooklyn!

Our founder is Jessica Roux, a Brooklyn based illustrator and designer. She is originally from the woodlands of North Carolina, where she grew up surrounded by an abundance of nature. Using subdued colors and rhythmic shapes, she renders flora and fauna with intricate detail reminiscent of old world beauty. She is currently available for freelance work so feel free to contact her. jessicaroux on tumblr, http://jessica-roux.com , jessicasroux on twitter
Jade Johnson is a freelance illustrator from New Orleans, Louisiana. Jill Colbert: My main concepts in my work come when they are in mid process or are already completed. I draw constantly, on average filling up 3 sketchbooks a month, and it’s gotten to where a lot of my art is mindless and has a life of its own. Experimentation, a proactive mentality and making my images as weird or surreal as possible are my main focuses when creating, to the point I want the viewer to enjoy, be disturbed, question or perhaps a little bit of everything when looking at my work. manfishinc on tumblr, http://www.manfishinc.com
Julia Lavigne is a freelance illustrator living in New Orleans. She is a recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Check out the rest of her work on her portfolio and follow her on tumblr, julia-lavigne, and twitter!

Stephanie Crane is an illustrator based in Savannah, Georgia with a B.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD. Her work combines rich value and texture with careful and subdued color. Stephanie can be reached at TheArtist@stephaniecraneart.com, www.stephaniecraneart.com, on facebook

Raised in Champaign, Illinois, Kenton now lives reluctantly in Fort Worth, Texas. kentonblogs on tumblr, http://www.kentonvisser.com, KentonLikesFish on twitter

The Exquisite Corpse is not only a picture game, but also a word game! Each of our members were put into groups of four and assigned to come up with a random word following the adjective, noun, adverb, and verb pattern, without knowing what was said before them. Here are our three hilarious sentences - click the words to see who said what!
The lavish ostrich openly saunters.
The riparian sponge cake incessantly defenestrated.
The nefarious soul sloppily letches.

Playing with words over at the QDC! I was in group 1!
